THE PROLETARIAT - Soma Holiday (Radiobeat/Non-U Records)
Here again we have a full-length album. And these guys take a back seat to no one. The sound's first-rate if the subject matter's a tad left of political center for what appears to be attention-seeking reasons
You can't argue with the execution, though. Ignore the words if they trouble you. It's easy enough to do given the surrounding noise. All in all, the band's most like the early British punk groups like the Pistol's and Clash. Only musically a lot more sophisticated.
Real anger is always better than fake in the same way that real hate is innately superior to phony love, or something. A real nice package with a simple, clean and effective sleeve.
"Splendid Wars" contains the best moments. A good one. New Yorkers should love this. So should you.
